The Coleman Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) raises money to pay for all of the school’s enrichment classes (PE, Art, Music and more) plus other essential programs and supplies. Without the support of our parents and community, many of the things we take for granted at Coleman would not exist.

In partnership with the Marin County Sheriff and District Attorney, we are sharing the attached letter related to the safe storage of guns if they are in the home.

With an estimated 4.6 million children living in homes with access to unlocked guns, we want to emphasize the need for raising awareness about the guidelines for the safe storage of guns under California law. In addition, we want our community members to take extra steps to prevent tragedies including: storing guns safely, asking about the presence of unsecured guns in other homes, and recognizing risk factors and warning signs of suicide and depression – and speak up.

Please see the attached letter, translated in English and Spanish. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students and community safe.

REMINDER: February Together 2023 Community Workshops Coming Soon! We hope you can join us!

This year, San Rafael City Schools is embarking on a journey to create a new three-year strategic plan. Grounded in our vision for student success, we are engaging the greater SRCS community to develop our District values, core skills, three-year goals and strategic actions. We are calling this important undertaking "Together 2023" and you're invited to participate!

We held an initial set of Community Workshops in November focused on identifying and defining the skills our students need to succeed. We were thrilled to have so many people participate and share valuable input! Now, our work continues.

Please join us at our upcoming Community Workshops in February! We need your help brainstorming high-leverage actions - what makes a difference in our classrooms and schools for students.

These are regional workshops hosted at schools across the District - you are encouraged to attend whichever session is most convenient for you, with all four February sessions being identical.

All workshops are open to all students, teachers, staff, families, community members and partners. Spanish interpretation will be provided.
